Dear Board Chairs:
We’ve heard from a number of Jewish day school Board Chairs from across North America asking for our help in recruiting board members to attend the PEJE Assembly for Jewish Day School Education, taking place April 6-8 in Boston. These Board Chairs recognize that school change and excellence begins with engaging their board members in the cutting edge issues and techniques of board leadership, which only the PEJE Assembly can deliver. They also believe that to have the greatest impact, teams of volunteers and professionals from schools need to attend this premier event for the day school field.
We have taken the liberty of crafting a sample message for you to share with your Board. Since PEJE does not have a complete list of board members from each school, please feel free to customize this message to address your school’s and your board’s specific interests, concerns, or opportunities (such as the availability of community stipends). For your convenience, this sample is available as a Word document. Some Board Chairs have addressed initial resistance by explaining that investing three days of time at the Assembly may reap years and years of growth and excellence for their school.
The early-bird deadline of February 1 is the final day for school teams to benefit from discounted rates (all team members must register at the same time to receive these discounted rates). In addition, a number of communities are offering stipends to support school teams to attend the Assembly. We hope that you will position your school to gain the most from the Assembly by encouraging a team of at least four people, both professionals and board members, from your school to attend. We look forward to greeting you in Boston as we become “Linked for Learning, Positioned for Growth.”
Sincerely,

Rabbi Joshua Elkin, Ed.D.
Executive Director
