Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education Names Jill Goldenberg New Executive Director

Seasoned PEJE Executive Tapped in Board Decision

Boston, MA – May 5, 2015 – The board of directors of the Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education (PEJE) has named Jill Goldenberg its new Executive Director.

“For years, Jill has provided a wealth of skills and talent to PEJE and the day school community,” stated board chair Michael Bohnen. “As Strategy Manager for Endowment and Legacy, Jill was responsible for empowering select day schools to raise over $57 million for their endowments – a remarkable accomplishment. The board is fully confident that Jill will continue to bring the strong vision and leadership necessary to successfully continue PEJE’s mission.”

Jill will serve as PEJE’s third Executive Director. She follows Amy Katz, who will continue to represent PEJE around the collaboration table as Senior Adviser to PEJE, and founding Executive Director Josh Elkin.

“I am honored to lead PEJE as we maintain our laser focus on our mission to secure Jewish day school sustainability and affordability,” Goldenberg said. “I look forward to using my personal commitment to day schools to drive PEJE’s effectiveness in giving schools the support and tools they need to ensure that our schools are destinations of choice for students, parents and philanthropists.”

“As PEJE works with other organizations to enhance the provision of services to the day school field, I am confident that Jill’s organizational and leadership experience will prove immeasurably valuable during this next chapter,” Bohnen concluded.

Through generous grants from The AVI CHAI Foundation  and other foundations passionate about day school sustainability and affordability, PEJE is currently recruiting the next cohort of schools looking to build endowment through its groundbreaking Generations National program while simultaneously supporting the current and future cohorts of Atidenu (recruitment and retention) and the Governance & Fundraising Academy.

Jill Goldenberg currently serves as the President of Boston’s Jewish Community Relations Council, and previously served on the Boards of Directors of CJP, Boston’s federation, and The Rashi School.  She received her AB with distinction from the University of Michigan and her JD from Boston University School of Law. She and her husband are the proud parents of two day school graduates.
