2008 PEJE Assembly for Jewish Day School Education

From 2006 Assembly Participants:

2006 PEJE Assembly

The PEJE Conference was, in my opinion, one of the best Jewish education conferences I have ever attended. It had a robust program, motivated attendees, and a most supportive logistical system. Even the food was exceptional.

I do have some experience in the conference business, and I have an "eye" for quality. Congratulations on offering a learner-responsive experience.

Kol hakavod!

This was a WOW in every sense of the word. First of all, everyone was there. The networking was fantastic and there was a palpable buzz and excitement in the air. And we were treated like royalty....as if everyone there was a $100,000 donor. Yasher Koach!

You have all truly lived up to your name as you shared with all of us the excellent resources available to us and enabled us to begin the processs of developing our own partnerships for excellence in Jewish education.

As a new Head of School who came to the position from higher education, I have much to learn. I also am wary of conferences, as I feel that the one shot format of conference sessions makes it difficult to implement whatever you are learning, however interesting it may be. The Assembly is an exception, as the sessions combined theory and practice in a way that I could immediately see how I could implement some of what I've learned in our school.

The conference was incredibly inspiring. We are so isolated out here in Western Canada that to be in a forum of 1,000 people all dedicated to day school education was an amazing experience.

I do believe that the level of excellence exhibited at the conference (clearly articulated leadership vision, selection of speakers, programs, all manner of details, etc.) sets a tone by example for each participant.

As a Persian Jew born and raised in Iran, the experience of being at the Assembly was among one of the proudest moments of my life. I never attended Jewish day school myself, and I left Iran when I was 17. For the two days that I was at the Assembly I was so thrilled to see that I was treated equally as a Jew and for my extreme interest in the betterment of our Jewish day school. When I got back from Boston, I told my husband that what I loved about this Assembly was the fact that you and the partners started with a vision, of uniting all different sects of Jews and bringing them together under one roof for the sole purpose of improving the lives of the children and making them better Jews. I felt very comfortable among the thousand other Jews, realizing that for once, I am accepted for who I am.

I wanted to take a minute to let you all know how much I appreciate all of your support during the conference. I can say, with absolute certainty, that each person that came to my booth was 100% engaged in the Assembly and excited to be a part of this event.
