Blue Ribbon Jewish Day Schools Part II

by PEJE Staff on October 29th, 2009

Last week, I compiled a to-the-best-of-my-knowledge list of Jewish day schools that have received Department of Education Blue Ribbon awards *after* 2002. Here is the companion list, schools between 1982 and 2002. As with last week, I’m basing this list on school names alone; it’s easy to exclude schools with “Saint” in the name, but there are probably a couple Jewish day schools I missed. Please let me know if I have.

  1. Thanks for doing this!

Hebrew Academy (in Huntington Beach not Westminister) is a two time recipient of the Presidential Blue Ribbon.
One in 1997 and the other in 2003. On a side note, this year it also was awarded the highest WASC accredidation possible so reapplication won’t be again until 2015.

  2. Thanks, please add The Epstein School located in Sandy Springs, GA:

In 2004, The Epstein School was one of only three Jewish day schools in the nation to be honored as a 2004 Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

In 2005, Epstein was identified as a US Department of Education Innovator.

Coleen – we have Epstein listed in our post-2002 list: http://www.peje.org/blog/?p=235
