Blue Ribbon Jewish Day Schools
With the announcement earlier this week that Brauser Maimonides and Solomon Schechter Day School of Raritan Valley are the day-school recipients of the Department of Education’s 2009 Blue Ribbon Schools, I thought I would go back through the archives and compile all the day school winners. Unfortunately, all the schools from 1982-2002 are grouped together, while subsequently public schools are separated from independent schools, making the task much easier.
In other words, I’m going to get back to 1982-2002 in the near future. But for now, here are the Jewish day schools who have received the Blue Ribbon Award since 2003…
| School | City | State | Year |
| The Hebrew Academy | Huntingon Beach | CA | 2003 |
| Fuchs Mizrachi School | University Heights | OH | 2003 |
| The Epstein School | Atlanta | GA | 2004 |
| Yeshiva of North Jersey | River Edge | NJ | 2004 |
| The Agnon School | Cleveland | OH | 2004 |
| Tuscon Hebrew Academy | Tuscon | AZ | 2005 |
| Portland Jewish Academy | Portland | OR | 2005 |
| Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy | Overland Park | KS | 2005 |
| Maimonides Academy / Yeshivat Rambam | Baltimore | MD | 2005 |
| Hebrew Academy of Morris County | Randolph | NJ | 2006 |
| Heschel West Day School | Agoura | CA | 2008 |
| Hillel School | Tampa | FL | 2008 |
| Torah Day School | Atlanta | GA | 2008 |
| Solomon Shechter Day School of Raritan Valley | East Brunswick | NJ | 2009 |
| Brauser Maimonides | Fort Lauderdale | FL | 2009 |
Next week, I’ll be posting my interviews with the heads of school of SSDS Raritan Valley & Brauser Maimonides.
(I’m pretty sure I didn’t miss anyone, but please let me know if I have so I can fix the list.)

Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School (Baltimore, MD) was named a Blue Ribbon School in 2001 and received special recognition in Educational Technology.
Thanks for pointing that out, Joan. Check back Thursday for the 1982-2002 list!
